Where the facts come from
We start with the question a reader brings to us, such as how a peacoat should fit, what to ask a barber for, or which brands repair what they sell.
We gather the facts from original sources, including brand and manufacturer pages, professional and medical guidance, certification directories and published interviews, and we name those sources in the guide.
When sources disagree, we say so and show who says what, rather than picking one and presenting it as settled.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help us research and draft. An AI draft is never published as it stands.
We check every number, price, date and quotation against its original source, open every link, and rewrite anything that is vague, inaccurate or unhelpful. Prices carry the date we checked them, because brands change them.
Who checks each guide
Before a guide is published, a named member of our team reviews the full text.
Every guide carries a byline. Some guides are written by more than one person, and the people who write and review a guide are responsible for it together.
Corrections
When we find a mistake, we correct the guide. We are checking our older guides against the same standards and updating them as we go.
If you spot something wrong, tell us through our contact page.
No paid placements
No brand pays to appear in our guides. The external links in our guides are there for your reference.
