Top 21 Brands Like Free People For An Affordable Boho Look (2021)

These are the top 21 brands like Free People rocking the boho style right now, in 2021.

Just like Free People, these brands stand out thanks to their superb boho clothes and accessories, for any taste and any budget.

For those of you new to the style, ‘BOHO’ comes from the word bohemian and originates from the 18th century.

Boho style was indirectly created by the intellectuals, artists, and creatives of those times by wearing out their garments and conferring them with the vintage look we love so much nowadays.

Moreover, given its origin, boho clothes are worn as a form of protest against luxury brands or fast fashion.

Back to ‘Free People’ the brand has become the voice of BOHO styles, thanks to Nicole Ritchie, Rachel Zoe, Vanessa Hudgens, and Sienna Miller.

However, as there are many more amazing stores like Free People out there, in this article, I’m going to share them with you.

Without further ado, these are the top 21 brands like Free People you can shop for right now.

PRICE GUIDE

$ | under $50
$$ | $50–$100

$$$$ | $200 or more

1.
Anthropologie

Anthropologie bohemian style dress

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Great offering of boho styles for every occasion – I highly recommend the label if you’re after colorful prints and want to get ready for the summer.”

Price Range | $$ – $$$

Founded by Richard Hayne (founder of Urban Outfitters as well), Anthropologie is one of the most famous boho retailers in the world.

While everybody is looking for stores like Anthropologie and sees them as the largest Free People competitor, Anthropologie is, in fact, part of the same chain.

However, the Anthropologie store stands out from Free People thanks to unique cuts, colorful prints, and a fresh, hip vibe.

This boho retailer has styles for different occasions, so there’s plenty to choose from.

2.
Reformation

Reformation sustainable Boho clothing

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Discover some of the most current fashion trends in boho-chic clothing, beautifully paired with a strong commitment to sustainability.”

Price Range | $$$ – $$$$

I love Reformation not only for its boho styles but also for its commitment to sustainability in fashion.

Instead of synthetic materials, the brand uses natural, renewable, and plant-based textiles.

Moreover, Reformation designs all of its boho collections from scratch so you know the styles you buy on their site can’t be found anywhere else.

With Reformation, you know you’ll always be wearing the latest boho trends, made from the most sustainable textiles possible.

3.
Fillyboo

Fillyboo blue boho style dress

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Hand-made, artisanal boho clothes, made by local craftsmen with a love for people and the planet.”

Price Range | $$$$

Fillyboo is the epitome of hand-made boho clothing, from luxurious fabrics.

The label’s bohemian cut dresses are designed and hand-made in Australia, by local artisans.

The pieces are then hand-embroidered and crocheted by highly skilled artisans from Bali and Java.

I like this brand not only for its boho clothes but also for its support of small family businesses in both islands and Australia as well.

4.
Fanm Mon

Fanm Mon luxurious boho dresses

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Rare and limited edition bohemian-inspired clothes, made by Haitian artisans.”

Price Range | $$$ – $$$$

Fanm Mon is one of my favorite bohemian clothing brands out there.

Luxurious, the brand does plus-size boho styles for people with bodies like mine.

A modern symbol of consciousness, femininity, and freedom, Fanm Mon is a sustainable fashion label of Haitian heritage.

The brand is adored by stars such as Lauryn Hill, Morgan Stewart, and the twin sisters Cipriana Quann and TK Wonder.

Fanm Mon is a direct reference to the designer’s Haitian roots, and it means ‘peasant women’ in Creole.

No longer living in Haiti, the designer’s choice for ‘Fanm Mon’ name is a beautiful homage to all Haitian women.

These women have extensive knowledge of medicinal herbs, rare traditional cuisine, and fashion.

Thus, the designer sees their knowledge as a unique gift to the world, hence the name of the brand.

5.
Faithfull The Brand

Kate Middleton wearing Faithfull the brand boho dress

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Best bohemian clothing store for whimsical prints with garments that have a deep vintage vibe.”

Price Range | $$$ – $$$$

Adored by celebrities like Kate Middleton, Faithfull The Brand stands out amongst all boho brands for its whimsical prints.

More than a clothing brand, Faithfull The Brand represents a lifestyle that’s free-spirited, culturally diverse, and hippie at heart.

The brand’s unique designs are a call to love the same clothing again and again, without being wasteful or inconsiderate.

Check the brand’s feminine boho dresses, relaxed silhouettes, vintage kimonos, and classic style trousers.

The label also stocks lots of boho accessories, makeup bags, travel bags, and many, many more similar items.

6.

ModCloth is another label that designs and sells clothes like Free People, but for women who defy convention.

With cheaper and more affordable boho styles, the brand offers true vintage-inspired women’s clothing, in playful prints and unique silhouettes.

ModCloth is regarded as “We, the Free People brand” and a one-stop-shop for one-of-a-kind boho styles.

Lovestitch

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Super affordable and high-quality Californian-inspired Bohemian clothing for all tastes and budgets.”

Price Range | $ – $$

Lovestitch is a boho clothing brand of unknown origin, often recommended as a brand similar to Fillyboo.

Self-titled “The home of bohemian and feminine fashion”, Lovestitch features the latest boho trends and vintage-inspired collections for women.

I love Lovestitch for its fresh range of boho clothing, of unique ‘Californian vibe’.

And, for some strange reason, each time I do my daily skincare routine, I think of this brand – guess it is the Californian sun!

I always find here great pants, jackets, sweaters, crop tops, of vintage inspiration, and modern flattering cuts.

8.
Farm Rio

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Unique vintage-inspired and feminine boho aesthetics delivered to your right from the heart of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Samba, boho samba, baby!”

Price Range | $$$ – $$$$

Launched by a group of creatives from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (that believe in the existence of happiness), Farm Rio is an apparel brand that Anthropologie carries on its official website.

More than a boho-style brand, Farm Rio has been fostering cultural movements since 1997.

The brand takes vintage styles and infuses them with an elevated, feminine boho aesthetic.

Believers in good energies and beautiful frequencies, the brand founders seek:

colours and shapes that nature brings to your eyes and to your feelings.

Definitely not a Free People knock-off, I love this brand for its support of local culture, heritage, craftsmanship, and its fight to keep them alive.

For each piece sold via the official website, the company plants a tree in the Amazon Rainforest.

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Stone Cold Fox is a unique store dedicated to vintage-inspired and boho-style wedding dresses.”

Price Range | $$$$

Here’s another boho clothing label from Los Angeles, that I love a lot.

Stone Cold Fox takes inspiration from the delicacy of vintage clothing and seeks to make it fresh again.

The brand also has beautiful bohemian-style wedding dresses.

In the creation of its unique boho lines, the designer draws inspiration from classic celebs and designers such as Jane Birkin and Ossie Clark.

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Great brand for top-quality oversized boho bags, backpacks, and vintage totes that you can’t find anywhere else.”

Price Range | $$ – $$$

Everlane’s boho styles are quality crafted with attention to comfort and sustainability.

Everlane’s collections focus on denim, making sure anything you choose matches beautifully with the good old pair of blue jeans.

You can also pair Everlane’s boho styles with oversized bohemian tote bags, vintage carpet bags, or pure boho backpacks.

Moreover, since jeans couture is at the core of anything that Everlane does, the brand sources its denim from sustainable sources only with respect to Fair Trade standards.

12.
Lucky Brand

Lucky Brand boho denim style

EDITOR’S NOTE

“Stunningly beautiful boho style jeans made from high-quality denim, from an American label driven by a conscious, slow fashion ethos.”

Price Range | $$ – $$$

Regarded as an American classic, Lucky Brand is more known for its boho denim styles.

However, don’t think that Lucky Brand is all about denim.

The brand is now making excellent boho shirts, jackets, activewear, and dresses.

Lucky Brand’s design philosophy is quite simple:

“Designed to be worn forever.”

I also like Lucky Brand for its open support to several philanthropic causes.

For example, the brand donates a percentage of its monthly sales, and clothing garments as well.

Founded in Bali, Indonesia, Cleobella’s boho collections are hand-made by local artisans.

The brand is famous for its stylish, laid-back boho pieces as well as eye-catching bags and vintage-style shoes.

Cleobella is O’Brien’s (the brand founder) mother’s name and according to the designer, she’s the main source of inspiration along with the local culture.
